This dipping sauce is essential to almost any Thai meal. It can be found on almost any table in Bangkok.
Made from simple, readily available ingredients. It adds a punch of flavor, unlike anything you have had before.
Thai Dipping Sauce (Prik Nam Plaa/พริกนำ้ปลา)
- 3 Tbs. Lime juice
- 3 Tps. Sugar
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Shallot
- 3 Thai chilis
- 2 Tbs. Thai Fish Sauce
Dipping Sauce Recipe
- Pour lime juice into a small bowl
- Put sugar in lime juice bowl and mix them together and make sure that they are all melted
- Chop garlic, slice shallot thin and cut chili into small pieces put them in your lime juice bowl and soak them for 1 minute (to keep them fresh and not turning brown)
- Finally, mix fish sauce in a bowl and gradually stir them
