Grandma Anna's recipe for delicious biscuits that are perfect for dunking!
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 4 large Eggs
- 2 tsp Anisette Extract
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
-
Preheat the oven for 350 F
-
Mix all ingredients in a mixer until it’s well mixed and smooth.
-
Grease 4.5” x 8.5” loaf pan with butter and flour.
-
Fill 3/4 of the batter into the pan (I actually use about 3 trays).
-
Bake for 20 minutes, check with a toothpick in the center of the loaf. It should come out clean. If not, try to add 3 minutes each time.
-
Remove from the oven. Let the loaf cool down. Then, remove from the pan and put on a rack. Let it cool down a little bit more.
-
Raise the oven temperature to 400 F
-
Slice the loaf into biscuit size of your choice. Lay parchment paper on top of a cookie sheet, transfer slices to the tray.
-
Continue baking for 5 minutes until it’s getting toasted. Don’t forget to check the bottom of the biscuit. It could burn if you leave it too long.
-
If you wish to make them more toasted you could leave it in the oven by adding 2 minutes, be careful and don’t forget to flip the biscuits.
-
Remove from the oven, transfer to a rack to let it completely cool down.
-
Enjoy the biscuit!
